Consultation with the Law Commisioner

PwC GALE are delighted to be hosting a consultation with the Law Commisioner who wishes to seek the views of members of LAGLA, Interlaw and QueerPod on two current family and property law issues.

The focus of the seminar will be on two current hot topics:

• Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. This project commenced in October 2009 and a consultation paper is due for publication in early summer 2010. More information about the project can be found at www.lawcom.gov.uk/marital_property.htm. and;
• Intestacy and Family Provision Claims on Death reviews the intestacy rules and the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975. A consultation paper was published on 29 October 2009 and the consultation period runs until 28 February 2010. The consultation paper and other materials can be downloaded from our website at www.lawcom.gov.uk/intestacy.htm.

The seminar will take place on Wednesday 17 February 2010 at 1 Embankment Place, Villers Street, London WC2N 6DX. The timings are as follows:
