Member Application
There are two types of membership:
- free membership to individuals and
- corporate membership to businesses.
Individual Membership
It is free to sign up. Please select individual membership below.
The form will ask you to enter some of your details more than once. This is under the contact information we need your full name, email etc. to be able to get in touch with you. Under Personal information (Display Profile Information) you can enter these again (or choose a different display name and leave other information blank) for your members directory.
Your details will be used for your online profile on the members-only section of our website so that you can easily get in touch with other members. For your details to be included in the members directory, you will need to enable it to do so after you have signed up. Here is how to do it:
- Click “View Profile” on the top right;
- Click “My directory profile” then the “Edit profile” button and then “Privacy”
- You can now tick the box so that your profile is shown at all other members. You can also you can change individual settings.
Individual profiles will never be shown on the public part of our website, but please note that since membership is free, anyone can sign up.
Corporate Membership
Corporate Members will have the benefit of profiling their firm or chambers in our business directory with details of their areas of work, languages spoken etc. This is on the basis that they take on lesbian, gay and bisexual clients, have legal staff trained in diversity to deal with this work and promote diversity amongst their own staff.
This is a unique opportunity for a firm, chambers, legal department or other organisation to show their commitment to diversity to their staff as well as their clients.
The fee for corporate membership depends on the size of the business. Please choose corporate membership below and indicate the size of your business, legal department etc on the form. We will then contact you with the details of the appropriate fee, which will be payable offline. Once we have received your payment, we will activate your corporate membership.
Please note that should it appear to us that a corporate member is unsuitable to work for or with lesbians and gay men, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate corporate membership. No refund will be provided for any remainder of the year for which a membership fee has been paid.
Password
Please note that on the joining form your password will be displayed and your browser may remember it (if it generally remembers forms). This is something we have raised with Wildapricot but which we cannot ourselves change.
To stop your browser from remembering the password disable autocomplete in Forms:
- In Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > Content (Tab) > AutoComplete > Settings: untick the boxes (or if you have already completed the form, delete the history here)
- In Google Chrome: Click on the Spanner sign > Options > Personal Stuff > Never save text from forms
- If you are not sure whether your browser remembered the password, you should be able to go back to the form (after logging out) and then in the password field use the down arrow + delete to delete the entry from memory.
